White Peony (Bai Mu Dan)

Stunning fruity, light refreshing experience. This white peony tea offers a sweet floral notes adding a complexity not often found in white teas.
Harvested and produced in January 2022, in an organic tea estate in Sri Lanka.
This stunning tea is the result of the brilliant Nalin Modha, creating tea’s never seen from Sri Lanka.

White Peony (Bai Mu Dan)

This lovely light but full tea, Sri Lankan White Peony tea. It provides a lovely refreshing smooth experience.

Gorgeous well formed buds, if you look closely you can see the tiny hairs still on them, a sign of excellent quality white tea.
Light and fresh floral on the nose, with a lingering sweet finish.
Upon further infusions, the fragrant floral notes give way to a refreshing lychee taste. Reminiscent of these fresh spring mornings.

White tea is known to be a little delicate, however this tea is quite robust which does mean it can hold it’s own against boiling water.
In order to experience the floral notes please ensure you follow the brewing instructions to release the full complexity from these amazing leaves.

How do I prepare this tea?

For Western style brewing

Use 2g of leaf to 300ml of water (china tea cup size).
Bring the water to boil, then leave for 2 minutes, this leaves the water to cool to about 80 degrees.
Then pour over the leaves. Leave for approx 3 minutes.
Leaves used this way can be reused up to 3 times!

For Gong Fu or Chinese style brewing

Use 5g of leaf to 150ml of water
Bring the water to the boil and the leave for a minute or 2, this should ensure you get approximately 80 degree water.
Then pour over the leaves, wait 10 seconds and decant your tea.
Leaves use this way can be reused at least 6 times!

As always free from flavourings.

Store in a cool dry place away from sunlight.
