The return of Mermaid’s Tears!

Since 2021 sourcing elderflower became increasingly more difficult. How incredible it was to discover this growing locally!
All the elderflower in this blend was harvested in June 2024, in various areas in the Scottish Highlands.
This stunning elderflower brings a more intense floral note to the blend.

These freshly dried flowers are phenomenal, with this in mind Mermaid’s Tears is only available while seasonal stocks last, as the quality of our hand picked flowers cannot be matched.

Mermaid’s tears is so named because of it’s magical colour and every cup is a reminder that even when something feels almost impossible, when we hold fast to our beliefs and follow our instincts, magic happens.

Elderflower is seasonal and the process of harvesting and preparing it for the blend is a painstaking labour of love but as we all know, all the best things in life are worth the wait and the magical memories we savour last forever.

And when the mermaid cries, it’s not from sadness, the tears are joyous reminders of the magic of life.

What is Mermaid’s Tears?

A blend of elderflower, lemon balm and butterfly pea flower, this infusion is light and floral.
Naturally caffeine free, and surprisingly free from added colourings.

When infused with water this produces a brilliant blue brew, with a magical* twist as turns bright purple when adding lemon juice.

Always popular with kids, try adding a dash of maple syrup for some natural sweetness if needed.

How do I prepare this blue infusion?

For Western style brewing

Use about 1 heaped teaspoon of tea to a cup.

Infuse for 5 or more minutes depending on preferred taste. The longer you leave it the more intense the colour and taste.

This herbal blend is not recommended for Chinese style/Gong Fu brewing.

The more blue flowers in your infusion, the more blue your brew.
